Function of the Job:

The Preschool Infant/Toddler teacher plans developmentally appropriate, Christian activities in advance. This teacher supervises the children in their care and responds throughout the day to the children’s needs for safety, guidance and love. The teacher works closely with the co-teacher to provide collaboration and direction to support the function of the classroom.

Supervision:

The classroom teacher works under the supervision of the Preschool Director. Teachers are reviewed for quality of performance and compliance with the beliefs of the church and policies of the preschool.

Duties Performed:

Meets all physical and emotional needs of the children in the classroom

Creates and implements developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on the Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines

Uses appropriatetechniques to meet the developmental needs of the child

Oversees and facilitates the general safety of the classroom environment and its activities, including play areas outside the classroom

Interacts with children through music, song, art, reading, gross motor activities, and play

Assess the progress of child based on observations and assessments

Builds meaningful partnerships with preschool families

Attends devotions, required activities, workshops, and meetings

Attends in-service training, parent teacher conferences, staff and parent meetings and devotionals as required

Adheres to all policies, procedures and code of ethics

Maintains 20 hours of Professional Development throughout the year

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position, Monday - Friday from 8:40am - 2:30pm for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, or experience with young children

Able to lift 45 pounds

Able to sit on the floor to interact with babies and toddlers

CPR and First Aid certification

Sudden Infant Death training
