Cherokee Federal is hiring a CNC Machinist III for Pryor, OK!

STARTING PAY: $26.00/hour (pay commensurate with experience).

Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

The CNC Machinist III will demonstrate the skill, knowledge and experience required to manufacture complex parts with little or no supervision.

CNC MACHINIST III RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.

- Operates one or more types of machines in order to meet production demands.

- Sets and adjusts machine settings as necessary.

- Reads and interprets diagrams and blueprints to select, position, and secure machinery to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.

- Complete tasks accurately according to customer specifications.

- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, location of surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

- Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; and indicating vices.

- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.

- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

- Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities.

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUESTED:

- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience is required.

- Ability to demonstrate the skill, knowledge and experience required to manufacture complex parts with little or no supervision.

- Ability to make complex tooling, inspect complex parts and be able to read and edit complex programs.

- Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints, technical data and related specifications.

- Ability to exhibit good attendance, a good attitude, and the ability to work well with others.

- Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

- Previous applicable experience may include, but is not limited to: Machinist, CNC Machinist, CNC, CNC Operator or Machine Operator with working knowledge in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Machine Setup, CNC Lathe, or a CNC Mill.
