Field Mechanic

Essential Job FunctionsTravel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or owned heavy equipment. Diagnose problems and perform field repairs and maintenance on earth moving heavy equipment including but not limited to: bulldozers, excavators, loaders, steer loaders, backhoes, and trackhoes. Independently peforms all levels of diagnosis, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair. Removes and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components, tests and adjusts repairs. Always abides by all safety policies and procedures. Maintains service truck and keeps in clean condition. Assists with pick up and delivery of parts. Strong knowledge of John Deere equipment, Bobcat, Komatsu and other manufacturers of heavy equipment. Must be able to work independently. Ability to communicate with others and exhibits professional demeanor with customers, managers and coworkers. Must be able to multi-task and organize priorities. Must be able to read the English language sufficiently to be able to read and understand MSDS, written directions, and manuals. Advanced mechanical aptitude. Experience and education requirementsMust be over 18 years of age. Must have valid Drivers License. Knowledge of OSHA requirements preferred. Physical requirementsUse of hands to handle or control objects, stand for long periods of time, bend or twist their body, perform repetitive movements, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl. React quickly, use fingers to grasp or assemble small objects Lift a maximum of 50 lbs. unassisted, 100 lbs. assisted. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
