Controller - Construction
Seeking a Construction Controller in a new role due to growth. Reporting to the CFO, the
Construction Controller will be responsible for working alongside the Executive Team to lead the
accounting and finance department, prepare financial statements, and manage the general ledger,
cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting functions. The
Construction Controller will identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities
Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting
standards
Manages overall cash flow and develop a robust job costing process to optimize project
financial tracking
Implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability and conduct regular cost
reviews
Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to
management
Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational
budgets and actual expenditures
Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and
efficiently
Ensure forecasts, project budgets, and related planning are prepared timely and accurately
Manage, motivate and develop staff
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting
7 years’ experience minimum with mid to senior level corporate management responsibilities
Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial leadership role in construction or
contracting industry
Experience in managing financial project management, with focus on streamlining
accounting processes
