These positions are located at Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-Oak Park Heights and MCF-Stillwater. One (1) position will be filled at each location.These positions direct and coordinate orientation and reentry programming at MCF-Oak Park Heights and Stillwater, linking community services, facility staff and incarcerated persons together in this effort. These positions evaluate and implement new and innovative approaches to transition, including, but not limited to, housing, employment, personal finance, transportation, health, family, personal identification documents, family reunification and living under supervision.Minimum QualificationsTo be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .

Two (2) years of experience supervising correctional clients in a secured or correctional environment (Note: A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience) ; OR

One (1) year of case management or counseling experience in a secured or correctional environment; OR

One (1) year of experience delivering transition and/or re-entry programs for correctional clients.

Applicants who meet the experience requirements listed above will be further assessed on the following:

Skills in teaching or conducting classroom training including experience in designing and delivering oral presentations in a variety of settings.

Problem solving skills sufficient to establish transition or reintegration program direction, identify potential problems and issues, and involve appropriate internal and external resources to accomplish goals, and to assist individuals in meeting goals for release preparation and developing personal skills and resources.

Written and oral communication skills sufficient to maintain effective lines of communication with corrections staff and community resources/programs sufficient to prepare and deliver classroom presentations and one-on-one pre-release counseling services to individuals in a variety of pre-release topics in job search, housing, education, family reunification, parenting, personal finance and money management, mental and physical health, cultural awareness, etc.

Human relation skills sufficient to develop collaborative relationships with a variety of public, private, and community organizations.

Organizational skills sufficient to coordinate and supervise special transition events such as the annual transition fairs and mock job fairs, family law clinics, child support workshops, etc.

Experience and skills in using word processing and database software.

Preferred QualificationsThe following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology or related field.

Experience as a career counselor, vocational counselor, or academic advisor.

Experience delivering cognitive, psycho-educational or educational groups/classes to correctional clients.

Experience using virtual workspaces (such as Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.) for delivering content at meetings or presentations.
