You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Stillwater, Minnesota region.Your responsibilities

Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement preparation

Command of payroll

Financial auditing experience

Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience highly preferred

Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations

General familiarity with financial statements consolidation

Adeptness in Financial Statement

Month end closings experience desired

Auditing experience

Experience with Analyze Financial Statements

Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

2+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

CPA or MBA preferred
