Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Shift: 7 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday
Job Description:
Midwest Flooring Installation LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, focusing on receiving and shipping carpet and pad materials. This role requires proficiency in operating a forklift, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and Shipping:
- Receive and inspect incoming carpet and pad shipments.
- Verify accuracy of orders against shipping documents.
- Prepare and package carpet and pad for outgoing shipments.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
2. Forklift Operation:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Assist installers by loading carpet and pad for daily installations.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage.
3. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory using warehouse management software.
- Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or overages.
4. Warehouse Maintenance:
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse grounds, including areas visible to the community.
- Dispose of waste materials properly and recycle where applicable.
5. Technology Use:
- Operate a tablet and computer for inventory management.
- Utilize warehouse management software to track and update inventory status.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors through digital platforms.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience as a warehouse associate or similar role.
- Proficiency in operating a forklift (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with warehouse management software and inventory systems.
- Ability to operate a tablet and computer.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
