Shop Hand/Delivery Driver

Purpose Of This Position:

At Perfect My Home (PMH), we are seeking a motivated Shop Hand/Delivery Driver to become a part of our growing team. The right candidate will engage in hands-on tasks in this entry-level position, which is vital to the efficient functioning of our shop. Your duties could include loading and unloading labor, working with masonry materials, and general materials around the shop. One of the key functions of this position will be delivering materials to customers. Additionally, you'll be responsible for keeping the shop facility and surrounding service yard clean and organized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for the daily duties related to the general shop and facilities upkeep and maintenance.

Organizing and keeping the shop floor clean and safe from hazards that could be harmful to other employees.

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Using a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively for different tasks.

Assisting technicians, or other employees, by supporting skilled workers preparing materials and tools, by helping with others as needed.

Participate in safety meetings and inspections.

Stock new materials at the shop when inventory levels fall below minimum requirements

Fulfill work orders and prepare them for delivery to customers.

Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities.

Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in construction or general labor is a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all Shop Hands are expected to meet the following requirements:

Work independently performing quality work within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members, service providers, end-users, and clients.

Must have excellent written and verbal communications abilities with attention to detail.

Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with team members, management, clients, and the general public.

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (including telephone and technology) skills.

Effective communication, presentation and interviewing skills are required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,mathematical or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to handle customer invoices and orders.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to multi-task and identify potential conflicts or needs and provide timely resolutions.

Must be detail oriented, respect deadlines and provide timely feedback or responses.

Maintain strict confidentiality as directed, be honest, trustworthy, dependable, demonstrate good work ethic and flexibility.

Bilingual is not required but preferred.

Special requirements:

A valid Oklahoma Class "D" Operator's License is required, along with the ability to drive a company-provided vehicle and proof of auto insurance.

Safety:

The employee shall be knowledgeable about and follow PMH’s safety policies and procedures. The Shop Hand should possess or be open to ongoing training in job and service shop site safety practices. Employees should immediately report (i.e., during current shift) any accidents, unusual occurrences, or any other safety-related issues to the immediate supervisor.

Work Environment:

This position primarily takes place in a construction environment, exposing the employee to varying temperatures, including heat and cold. The employee is expected to maintain regular attendance at work and is consistently on time. Normal office hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm. Work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as required. This includes any approved adjustments to work hours arranged for necessary outreach events.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or reach with hands and arms, to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Employees

should use proper lifting techniques and, if necessary, seek assistance or use equipment to minimize the risk of injury. Additionally, employees should be physically capable of performing these tasks safely.

Benefits and Compensation:

PMH offers a benefits package to include Health Insurance. The position will be considered an hourly, non-exempt position and the pay will be based on the employee’s qualifications and experience. The minimum starting wage range is $17.00 an hour in an non-exempt status.
