Quadriplegic woman needs one female aide for four night shifts from Thursday through Sunday, 6:00 pm to 1:00 am, or two aides to split the four nights. NOTE: the client has two cats.
Starting pay: $18/hr. Raises based on performance.
HOURS: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 6:00 until 1:00 am.
REQUIREMENTS:
Reliability
Patience
Some experience with caring for someone
Common sense
Good attitude
Reasonable punctuality
Reliable vehicle
Moderate strength to move client around on her air mattress
DUTIES:
Intensive personal care such as catheter care and performing range of motion
Assisting the client with TV programs and music
Cooking simple vegetarian dinners for and feeding the client (you're welcome to eat, too)
Doing her dinner dishes
Folding and putting away her laundry (mainly bath linens) once or twice a week
Assisting in tooth care and personal hygiene needs
If your personal life, family requirements, and/or health affect your ability to be on the job when scheduled, this is not the job for you. The employer really needs employees who will be at work when they are scheduled. There is some opportunity to have another employee cover for you or trade shifts occasionally.
The job starts at $18.00 per hour, with raises based on merit/performance. Reliable transportation is a must and experience is preferred, but not required. This job is NOT simply sitting with someone; you stay fairly busy. Smokers okay, if you can stand the cold!
