A Day in the Life:This role is responsible for General Ledger account reconciliations, monthly journal entry preparations, review of lease accounting schedules and analysis. Ensures compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Assist in driving continuous process and procedural improvements.What You’ll Do:
Reconcile and/or approve assigned general ledger accounts of highest-level complexity (with corresponding evidential support)
Assist in facilitation and completion monthly close procedures
Provide quarter end and year end reporting deliverables to tax and financial reporting teams
Complete SOX 404 controls related to critical accounting processes
Approval of lease accounting calculations and schedules in lease management system to ensure compliance with ASC 842 accounting standards
Analyze accounts to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis and proper accounting procedures have been followed
Ensure all necessary journal entries (including accruals) to ensure expenses and income are properly recorded in the correct accounting period.
Investigate and report to the manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.
Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested
Train new employees and ensure training material/documentation is kept current
Projects as assigned by Management.
Work with both external and internal audit teams as needed
Maintains a ‘Best practice sharing culture’, always striving to find ways to improve service and change mind set
We expect the starting salary to be around $55,000; the actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience.What We’re Looking For:
Minimum 5+ years of Accounting Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA eligible preferred
Working knowledge of MS Excel
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product.
