The J.D. McCarty Center is looking for Behavior Technicians/Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to join our Outpatient team in Norman, OK. The Behavior Technician/RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with Autism. The Behavior Technician/RBT will collect data on programs and work closely with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual and enjoys helping others. This person must be reliable, empathetic and able to work with children. Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of teaching and natural environment play.

Follow the client’s individualized treatment plan and behavior reduction protocols as determined by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Collect, record and summarize data on observable client behavior(s).

Effectively communication with parents and caregivers regarding the client’s progress as instructed by the BCBA.

Assist in preparing client materials as instructed.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.

Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings provided by the J.D. McCarty Center.

Participate in team meetings and training workshops.

Ensure that the client is always in a safe and positive environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Have the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or previously had certification and be willing to obtain re-certification within 30-45 days of hire.

A minimum of 1-year experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician in an outpatient clinical or in-home setting.

Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.

Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.

Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.

Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing) for extending periods of time.

Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in a Behavior Intervention Plan while working with children with challenging behavior.

Must either have COVID vaccine, be willing to receive the vaccine, or complete a declination form and follow hospital COVID protocols.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background and drug test.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
