Responsible for the successful execution of fast, accurate, sandwiches and world-class customer service while maintaining a clean, organized operation. Responsible for the oversight of training, coaching and development of both direct and indirect reports at all assigned locations. The Area Manager will ensure the staff at each location remain compliant with all local, state and federal laws.Duties and Responsibilities:

Mastery of all other store positions including slicing master, inshopper, sampler/marketing specialist and driver. Ability to perform all duties of these positions as needed including making a sandwich in 30 seconds or less.

Assists with the management, development and training of employees at all assigned locations.

Makes hiring decisions and provides direction and feedback to store management on hiring initiatives.

Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing employee disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.

Makes employee termination decisions and provides feedback and recommendations to store management for termination actions.

Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.

Communicate changes in company personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.

Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends employees for promotion or transfer.

Provides on-the-job training for employees.

Assists in the supervision of the preparation, sales, and service of food.

Forecasts food items. Estimates what amount of each food item will be consumed per shift.

Supervises food preparation and service operations while onsite/ on location. Assists inshoppers during rush periods to ensure the maintenance of restaurant efficiency.

Assists inshoppers in greeting customers, taking orders, using the cash register, assembling order and checking for completeness and correctness.

Ability to provide customers with world-class customer service.

Responsible for responding to and resolving customer complaints quickly as they arise, including providing coaching and corrective action to course correct service related employee performance.

Executes systems and procedures with 100% integrity and completeness.

Audits previous shift's systems and procedures for 100% integrity and completeness.

Completes preventive maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies; in addition to and to include general maintenance duties such as: painting, minor tile work, minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, changing light bulbs, equipment troubleshooting and repairs, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned and as business needs require.

Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses:

ServeSafe Certification (opportunity to acquire provided).

Corporate Certification (training opportunity to acquire provided).

Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation.

Previously held General Manager Position for 12 months or longer at a Jimmy John's.

Valid driver's license.

Current automobile insurance and requirement to maintain current at all times.

Fluency in English, Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Oversee day to day operations and performance of 3-5 assigned restaurants.

Ability to supervise 3-5 of direct reports (General Managers) and 100+ of indirect reports.

Travel:

Daily, weekly and monthly travel between assigned restaurants.

Primarily car travel; limited flight and overnight travel expected for this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a fast past, fast food environment.

Occasional exposure to outside elements as well as music, telephones, ovens, equipment timers.

Uses knives and operates equipment with moving parts.

Exposure to household cleaning products/chemicals, such as: bleach and ammonia.

Physical Demands:

Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 50-60 hours a week. Work includes pressure generated by deadlines, peak workload periods and frequent interruptions.

Constant talking or hearing, use of vision.

Use of standard office equipment, typing on a computer.

Performance of repetitive motions, use of manual dexterity/motor skills.

Frequent walking, stooping and kneeling; standing and moving about the unit the entire workday.

Frequent leaning, twisting.

Rarely [but occasionally the need will arise for] crawling, climbing, balancing or use of heavy machinery.

Ability to lift heavy objects above fifty (50) pounds.
