Job Number: 922Riverside Research's Intelligence and Defense Solutions Directorate is seeking a Physical Scientist for an opportunity at Wright-Patterson AFB. Responsibilities include analyzing Persistent Infrared (PIR) sensor performance and data content, discover target phenomena and provide attribution for feature observables, and support collection planning and new sensor characterization for quality of analysis to ensure optimal solutions are implemented for product accuracy. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. citizenship. Job Responsibilities:- Provide subject matter expertise to remote sensing data and identify new or advanced techniques for exploitation of targets and features
- Investigate sensor and target phenomenology and design test collections to address hard problem detection and tracking
- Provide estimated target characteristics and observables using known models or developed approaches to determine expected intensities for selected wavelengths
- Coordinate with external agencies and research partners on emerging methods and technologies for the application of remote sensing exploitation methods and algorithms
- Perform sensor collection, configuration, and performance evaluations for remote sensing applications to address exploitation requirements
- Document and present research results and the status of ongoing or emerging projects
- Communicate advanced concepts to senior leadership in support of communication and program advocacy
- Author proposals for the application of research areas to address community challenges
- Review and access technical deliveries from contract teams
- Occasional travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
- Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
- Master's in physics, mathematics, engineering, physical science, computer science or equivalent experience;
- 5+ years' experience in one of the following: remote sensing research, processing or exploitation approaches, testing and analysis, and collection operations
- Propensity to dig into problems in the pursuit of determining root-cause
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills
- Optical sensor design or sensor characterization techniques
- Project Management experience
- Intelligence production experience
