Description Robert Half has an excellent opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Based in West Chester, Ohio, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.What you get to do every day
Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time
Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections Requirements - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Month-end Close Activities experience highly preferred
Accrual Accounting experience
Solid understanding of QuickBooks
General ledger experience required
Strong familiarity with journal entries
General familiarity with fixed assets
Practical knowledge of depreciation
Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required
High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
Previous experience with payroll preferred
Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
