Are you passionate about aerospace innovation? Do you thrive on designing cutting-edge solutions that redefine industry standards? We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineering Co-op to assist in the design and development of critical aircraft Potable Water and Ice Protection systems. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August 2025 (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity. What You Will Do: As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, you will assist throughout the entire lifecycle of aerospace components, from conceptual design through to certification and ongoing product support. Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting advanced solutions for:

Water heaters and freeze protection systems

High-performance water tanks and heated tubes

Precision-engineered valves, faucets, and drain masts

Pneumatic valves and de-icers for ice protection

Elastomers and heated composites tailored for aerospace applications

What You Will Learn:

Learn about applied research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Learn test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects. Produce parts, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests

Gain knowledge in research, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Interest in the design and development of aerospace systems, particularly Potable Water and Ice Protection systems

Interest in all phases of the product lifecycle, from initial concept to certification and beyond

Experience preferred in CAD software, simulation tools, and composites

Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to innovation

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Must be a commutable distance to Uniontown, OH to work an onsite schedule. This position may be eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
