Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automobiles, excellent mechanical aptitude, and a strong work ethic. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in dismantling, inspecting, and repairing vehicles to ensure the efficient operation of our salvage yard.
Responsibilities:
Dismantle vehicles, including cars and trucks to salvage usable parts.
Inspect salvaged parts for quality and functionality, ensuring they meet our standards.
Repair and refurbish salvaged parts as needed, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
Perform mechanical assessments and diagnostics on vehicles to identify salvageable components.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet production goals.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
Assist with inventory management and record-keeping activities as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, preferably in a salvage yard or similar environment.
Proficiency in vehicle dismantling, including the removal of engines, transmissions, and other major components.
Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
