Our employees enjoy a company culture that fosters teamwork as well as individual initiative and rewards success.Benefits: Swanton Welding Company offers an excellent benefits package with three medical plan options, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, AD&D coverage and a 401(k) plan with company match.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.Ability to perform MIG welding activities to steel componentsMaintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working orderVisually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications.Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work areaPerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentWillingness to test and pass welder qualification testThorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.Welding experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel productsMust be able to complete a manual welding test. Welds are judged on functionality and estheticsMust be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)Ability to work with fractions and decimalsA work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standardsA work history that supports a good to excellent attendance recordStrong mechanical abilitiesFast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented approach to daily work activitiesAble to work well in a team-oriented work environmentPositive attitude and willingness to learnPREFERRED SKILLS:At least 2 years' welding experience and able to perform MIG welding.Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, StoopingLifting, Carrying up to 50 poundsADDITIONAL NOTES:May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.Swanton Welding & Machining is an equal opportunity employer.
