Lead Product Engineer positions with Dana Automotive Systems Group, LLC in Maumee, Ohio will be responsible for developing and providing “Best in Class” axle products, for customers globally. Lead all product development and validation activities including: DFMEA, design reviews, drawing and model creation (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), prototype builds, DV/PV testing, NVH verification, design for manufacturing, and key supplier development. Initiate and Lead Product / Process Improvements with Dana Manufacturing and Assembly Plants. Develop and maintain standard product catalogs. Work with manufacturing plants and suppliers to improve design for manufacturing and assembly. Evaluate and provide disposition of engineering change requests and deviation requests. Develop and support cost savings initiatives and supplier complexity reduction strategies. Provide technical support to Applications Engineering during all phases of vehicle development including pre-sourcing, vehicle validation, product validation, vehicle start of production (SOP), and post-SOP. Communicate all engineering and development issues as needed to Dana internal functions – Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Test Lab, Quality, Warranty, and Engineering Management. Prepare and conduct technical presentations, test reports, engineering analyses (duty cycle and equivalent

damage analyses internally as well as with supplier engineering support) to demonstrate the integrity of product prior to test. Develop and refine engineering tools: design checklists, masters, standards, specifications, and guides. Analyze warranty and test validation data, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective counter measures. Support Advanced Program Quality Planning (APQP) activities.

Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in mechanical engineering or related technical field, and at least 7 years of experience in the job offered or at least 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries. Stated experience must include at least 6 years of experience in each of the following: combustion engine and electrified driveline, powertrain, or axle related field; bearings (Sizing, Selection, Validation, and Launch); developing and completing product validation plans; root cause analysis and countermeasure development; working with DFMEAs, DVP&R, GD&T and design standards/specifications; and using CAE tools including ROMAX, ABAQUS, FEA, FESAFE. Stated experience must include at least one year of experience in electrified product. Must be willing to travel domestically 10% and internationally 10%.
