Under the direct supervision of the Director, Lifestyles the Coordinator, Group Exercise is responsible for the implementation and ongoing coordination of the LifeStyles land, aquatic, specialty group exercise classes and the Pilates Reformer training program.x000D

Supervises the daily work activities of the Group Exercise Department to include the group exercise instructors, mind body trainers and specialty class instructors. In conjunction with the Director, Interviews, hires and trains staff; evaluates performance and provides feedback.

In conjunction with the Director, develops a comprehensive exercise class schedule that meets the diverse time requirements and intensity levels of the LifeStyles membership. Reviews schedules regularly and alters as participation and demand dictate.

Provides feedback to the Director about market trends, training needs of staff and appropriate new programs for members to develop workshops that can be offered. Educational workshops may be in collaboration with national organizations (e.g. ACE, AFAA, Arthritis Foundation, Zumba Fitness, etc.) to enhance the programs offered at LifeStyles, improve community image and generate revenue for the Center.

Ensure the success of the group exercise department through maintaining cleanliness of studios and equipment; arranging for class subs or subbing classes as needed; and ensuring all equipment is in an appropriate usable condition.

Collaborates with center Directors to provide a comprehensive group exercise program and schedule though regular meetings and communications.

Must instruct a minimum of four group exercise classes each week.

Participates in the "Manager on Duty" (MOD) rotation, attends assigned department and health system meetings and selected seminars.

Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED.

Multiple group exercise certifications from nationally recognized certifying bodies. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED training.

Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $17.25Maximum hourly: $26.31The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
