Lead Specialist – CT Inspection Operations/Throughput

Job Description SummaryThe Lead Engineer will be accountable for leading the throughput of operations through the Xray/CT lab which supports all the value stream shops and suppliers. Activity will be focused on managing operations for part flow through various inspections to meet commitments of NPI programs and shops. The engineer will work with existing operators and engineers on ensuring proper paperwork and quality items are in place and will be responsible for the coordination of these activities. The engineer will also be coordinating with customers on schedule, commits and upcoming demand needs leading to capacity planning. Lastly, the lead specialist will work with lab engineers to ensure proper process development can occur.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:

Demonstrated experience with the throughput of hardware in an Aviation setting – handling operations for high-mix low-volume product throughput.

Demonstrated experience in working in a lab environment involving new technologies, feasibility studies, trials and pilot runs.

Demonstrated ability to own control centers managing key performance indices, and driving continuous improvements based on data analysis, constraint resolution and problem solving.

Working experience with site/equipment personnel, and ability to flow down complex requirements.

Knowledge of GE Aviation quality systems, and proper procedures to meet regulatory requirements and audits.

Ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and ability to handle multiple projects and a given time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university + Minimum of 3 years of NDE Xray CT experience (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in NDE Xray CT)

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

Experience with tracking and following multiple parts through multiple inspection processes, including knowledge of inspection requirements.

Ability to work with engineers and technicians with varying backgrounds across different organization – materials, engineering, product lines and manufacturing.

Familiarity with facility requirements needed to run parts to Aviation standards

Experience with lean and lean processes, willingness to learn and take on the leading of process improvement projects
