Description Robert Half is looking for a senior accountant for a growing Cincinnati based company. The senior accountant is responsible for the month-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, accounting reconciliations and supporting schedules / financial analysis. For immediate consideration please contact Jarrod Moon at (859)229-3603.Principle Responsibilities Complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and generates financial reporting that accurately reflects the condition of the business and provides management with reliable information necessary to control operations. Will also coordinate month end and year end closing reports and audits. Records and analyzes daily financial transactions; reviews general ledger accounts, creates and accurately enters required journal entries, reconciles and ensures journal and general ledger entries are up-to-date and accurate for a timely month-end close. Prepares banking reporting packages. Reviews aging AR reports and monitor collection activities of all past-due receivables. Determines credit holds and may conduct escalated past-due calls. Oversees and verifies journal entries for daily cash and bank transactions and bank reconciliations to ensure an accurate depiction of available funds. Acts as a resource to resolve purchasing accounts payable and account receivable related issues; assists in escalated collection efforts to drive timely collection of outstanding receivables; ensures CFO is abreast of significant outstanding collections. Reviews the bi-weekly payroll journal before payroll is processedRequirements - Month-end Close Activities experience preferred

Monthly Accruals experience
General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Foundational knowledge in Month-end Financial
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)
Proven knowledge of Monthly Account Reconciliation
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Experience with ERP systems
Skilled at time management
2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
