at The Forge, we serve gourmet crepes, exquisite cocktails and unique coffee concoctions on a trendy resort island in Lake Erie.
We are seeking high energy, capable cooks, servers and food runners. The cooks should be able to work quickly, follow plate presentation and uphold high food safety standards.
I am looking to fill the following positions:
2 Saute Cooks
2 Crepe Cooks
1 Food Runner
2 Expo
2 Servers
Responsibilities for saute cook will include cooking steaks using cast iron pans, making pasta dishes to order, using the deep fryer and flat top, prepping station, plating dishes neatly and cleaning station at the end of shift.
Responsibilities for crepe cook include using crepe irons, prepping ingredients, plating crepes and cleaning station at the end of shift.
Responsibilities for food runner include prepping station, communicating with cooks and running food.
48 hours of work per week required One 8 hour shift per day + additional hours available on weekend days. One day off every week. The island has plenty to offer on days off, from parasailing or kayaking to nature exhibits and wineries.
Housing is provided for a small fee, which comes out of your check weekly. Housing is complete with kitchens, bathrooms, beds, closets, dressers Move in ready. Housing is a 2 minute walk from the restaurant. It's likely that you will share a room with one other person and each house has about 10-12 occupants per season.
The restaurant is open until late October. We are only hiring people who are available until the season ends in October. If you are applying we are looking for someone to move to the island as soon as possible!
