Description We are offering an opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the manufacturing industry, based in MONTROSE -GHENT, Ohio. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for timely and accurate monthly closing of the consolidated financial statements, enhancing efficiency of financial reporting, performing reconciliations of account balances, assisting with the budget process, and serving as a liaison to external auditors. Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the general ledger and ensure timely and accurate monthly closing of the consolidated financial statements. Enhance the efficiency and automation of financial reporting in partnership with operations and IT teams. Perform reconciliations of monthly, quarterly, and year-end account balances. Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses. Coordinate and assist with the annual budget process including updates for actual results comparison and forecasting. Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Establish and maintain internal controls in accordance with J-SOX requirements. Identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances in accounting information. Serve as a liaison to external auditors quarterly and annually. Perform other duties as may be required. Requirements Proficiency in Consolidations Experience with Foreign Currency Translation Knowledge of the Manufacturing industry Prior experience in Public Accounting Strong skills in Financial Reporting Familiarity with System 21 Ability to handle Month End Close tasks Experience with Bank Reconciliations Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field Professional certification such as CPA is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards.
