Job Title: Controls EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an individual to join a dynamic team as a Controls Engineer based in Middletown, Ohio. The Controls Engineer will be essential in ensuring the seamless operation of machinery by maintaining and troubleshooting control systems, PLCs, and related equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial automation systems and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on control systems, PLCs, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues using schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Program, configure, and modify PLCs and other control devices to support production requirements and process improvements.
Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Supervisors to implement new control strategies, upgrades, and enhancements to existing systems.
Conduct calibration and testing of instrumentation and sensors to maintain accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Participate in equipment installations, commissioning, and startup activities, ensuring proper functionality and integration with existing systems.
Accurately document maintenance activities, equipment configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Essential Skills
Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens)
Proficiency in PLC programming, automation, and controls engineering
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
2+ years of experience in industrial controls maintenance
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the corrugated industry (nice to have)
Excellent problem-solving skills
Work EnvironmentThis is an on-site position, requiring adaptation to a fast-paced environment with continuous changes. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, first shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with flexible hours if needed. This position will also be on call, with hours worked on call paid at 4x rate. Saturday pay will be 1.5x and Sunday pay will be 2x. The company offers a very laid-back environment with flexible work hours, good benefits including 401(k) profit sharing, 40 hours of personal leave in addition to vacation, and the opportunity for bonuses.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $80000.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
