Learn more atwww.averydennison.com.Job DescriptionThe Workforce Support Manager will provide direct leadership of HR policies, procedures, and programs. They will lead a team of specialists who provide day to day HR Workforce support to a defined set of sites/region. This HR leader will engage with employees and leaders directly to coach, and assist with issue resolution. This manager will build relationships with the leaders in their site group/region, across the workforce support teams, with the HR partners and talent acquisition, talent management and total rewards centers of excellence (COE’s). Reporting to the Workforce Support Leader, this individual will be a key leader within the US/Canada GWO team.Critical Objectives:

This manager will build relationships with the leaders in their site group/region to keep a pulse on the people relations environment, and makes recommendations on programs, training and other interventions as needed.

Leads and develops workforce support specialists. Ensures strong performance and capability within the team. Gives timely coaching and feedback.

This role will manage the team’s overall objectives, workload, training, hiring and development. They will be actively engaged in understanding the team’s portfolio of work, and will engage directly in higher complexity cases

The workforce support manager works closely with the other tier teams in GWO to ensure that employees inquiries and issues are resolved in a timely, friendly and comprehensive way.

Partners closely with the HRBP for the region, ensuring critical information is shared in order to create the best possible employee relations and talent strategies.

Uses data to maintain, develop, recommend, implement and improve workforce support objectives, policies, and procedures.

Becomes an expert and an advocate for digital process redesign and using technology to improve both HR and employee experience. Thoroughly understands the HR toolset and how to maximize the value and effectiveness in our Workforce Support processes.

Communicates directly with employees regularly regarding escalated/elevated workforce support concerns. Support workforce support specialists in elevated/difficult situations and provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues.

Counsels employees on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws.

Maintains working knowledge of changing labor dynamics and laws. Directly partners with legal on matters requiring consultation.

Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics.

Ensures compliance with human resource policies and procedures within the team.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsSkills & Capabilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be an excellent teammate to other workforce support leaders, HRBP’s and COE’s as well as key cross functional teams.

Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures.

Excellent management skills.

Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, functional leaders, and other stakeholders.

Working understanding of statistical concepts and methods of data collection.

Ability to compile, research, and analyze information.

Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.

Requirements and Prior Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Masters Labor and Human Resources a plus

At least three to five years of related experience required, including previous people management experience

The role will require occasional travel to various manufacturing sites across the US

Person must be located at/near an Avery Dennison location.
