Whether a patient requires a minimally invasive procedure or a major surgery, our caregivers are dedicated to excellence in patient care. A caregiver in this position works 11:00am - 11:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Perform scrub and circulating functions.
Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic's Perioperative Residency Program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within six months of hire.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
