Job Title: Electrical Controls DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Designer to join our Production Engineering group. The team is focused on the manufacturing of automated equipment for various North American manufacturing facilities. This role ensures the stable introduction of new models and technologies by providing high-quality, cost-effective, and timely hardware, software, and safety design solutions.Responsibilities
Work in an engineering team to understand design requirements and create/modify automated production equipment.
Provide electrical design to produce engineering hardware data for assembling, building, and wiring control systems for production equipment.
Develop engineering software data to accomplish control tasks for production processes, including PLC, HMI, Motion Control, and Robotic programming.
Offer on-site support to install, system up, and mature control systems for production equipment.
Create and maintain a critical path schedule for work assignments to deliver control system design on time for small to medium projects.
Conduct and attend design reviews to ensure design standards are met and specifications are achieved.
Continuously apply engineering mindset to learn new skills, processes, and technologies to expand knowledge in relevant manufacturing technologies.
Essential Skills
5 years of experience in electrical controls design
Proficiency in Autocad for electrical schematics
Knowledge and experience with PLC programming (the person, Mitsubishi, Omron)
Experience in troubleshooting and programming PLCs from scratch
Ability to design electrical schematics and control systems
Experience with control panels and electrical design
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to travel to other manufacturing plants in Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Canada, and Mexico (up to 20%)
Willingness to work overtime (approximately 10 hours per week) and occasional weekends
Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves manufacturing automated equipment. Travel is required 20% of the time, and occasional weekend work is expected.
