Additive Manufacturing TechnicianLocation : Macedonia, OH, United StatesJob Family : EngineeringJob Type : RegularPosted : Jun 10, 2024Job ID : 49737Back to Search ResultsJob DescriptionApply Now >Save JobJob SavedPosition Summary: This position advocates and supports Parker’s Win Strategy through the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies.The position is based at Parker’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) located within the Parker Technology Center (PTC) facility. The role is primarily focused on the use and maintenance of industrial additive manufacturing (AM) equipment. Responsibilities currently include but not limited to: operations scheduling, inventory & material management, file preparations, machine operations, machine maintenance, mechanical post processing, operational metrics, and customer communications. This position is a hands-on activity requiring a creative, self-motivated, initiative taking person. Training will be made available as needed. Essential Functions: Operates AM equipment ensuring highest level of safety for others, with high percentage utilization and efficiency of the AM process Download and manipulate 3D models for AM builds, with ability to read and understand 2D drawings Support the design, fabrication, and modification of key components for new and existing prototypes of systems under development via AM, along with conventional manufacturing techniques Responsible for material management, processing and control Coordinate work in the queue(s), with flexibility towards sudden priority changes Ability to work independently under little guidance while multitasking Manage and perform post processing activites such as heat treat, surface finishing, dimensional verification, etc. Develops and documents operational procedures, process optimization approaches, and quality assurance processes and team performance metrics Share experiential learning with AM throughout Parker with participation in Enterprise wide knowledge sharing forums such as Parker’s Community of Practice (CoP) or on SharePoint / Engage sites Carry out preventive maintenance on all equipment under their responsibility Managing inventory and ordering of consumables Support continuous improvement methods, including 5S and safety procedures Essential Functions: Operates AM equipment ensuring highest level of safety for others, with high percentage utilization and efficiency of the AM process Download and manipulate 3D models for AM builds, with ability to read and understand 2D drawings Support the design, fabrication, and modification of key components for new and existing prototypes of systems under development via AM, along with conventional manufacturing techniques Responsible for material management, processing and control Coordinate work in the queue(s), with flexibility towards sudden priority changes Ability to work independently under little guidance while multitasking Manage and perform post processing activites such as heat treat, surface finishing, dimensional verification, etc. Develops and documents operational procedures, process optimization approaches, and quality assurance processes and team performance metrics Share experiential learning with AM throughout Parker with participation in Enterprise wide knowledge sharing forums such as Parker’s Community of Practice (CoP) or on SharePoint / Engage sites Carry out preventive maintenance on all equipment under their responsibility Managing inventory and ordering of consumables Support continuous improvement methods, including 5S and safety procedures Required Qualifications: Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Metallurgical Engineering, or Drafting (or equivalent), OR a minimum of (3) years of hands-on experience with AM processes and equipment. Experience in 3D CAD modeling to create, design, manipulate solid models Basic computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Adept at working in a manufacturing environment Use of hand tools such as drills, files, wrenches, etc. Strong attention to detail Willing to do occasional overtime as project demands dictate Has strong facilitation skills and ability to effectively communicate and present status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally, and 10 lbs regularly Approximately 5% travel may be required, mostly domestic Fluent in English (verbally and writing) This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be US Citizens or US Permanent Residents (i.e. “Green Card” holder) Desired Skills: · Skills and knowledge with AM is a plus · Experience with AM software such as Materialise Magics and GrabCAD is a plus · Hands on experience with manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to: lathe, mill, welding, drill press, inspection and measurement equipment is a plus.
