Field Service Technician
Candidates need to be able to commute to Marion for shop work when not traveling
Job DescriptionResponsible for coordinating projects, attending customer and vendor meetings, as well as the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery.Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair machines accurately and efficiently.
Make modifications to machines accurately and efficiently.
Install, assemble, and disassemble machines accurately and effectively.
Clean parts and adjacent parts that are being repaired.
Follow established tool procedures and maintain lock out tag out locks.
Perform thorough and accurate preventative maintenance and create reports within 2 weeks of returning.
Coordinate closely with the Sales Department and Office Staff concerning ongoing projects.
Obtain approval from the Field Service Supervisor for all purchases.
Make redesign suggestions of accessory components and communicate them to Japan with the approval of the FS and Plant Manager.
Ensure necessary parts and tools are ready prior to the project, make travel arrangements, and prepare the field service report.
Check tools prior to leaving customer site to ensure all tools are accounted for and organize tools prior to arriving back at the shop.
Accurately pull and highlight assembly and parts drawings.
Essential Skills
High mechanical aptitude. Able to disassemble and reassemble components such as bearings, bushings, IR sleeves, etc.
Able to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and low voltage DC(24V) systems.
Must demonstrate professionalism while working at customer sites.
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Work EnvironmentThis is a traveling position with travel up to about 70%-80% of the time due to increased demand for installations and servicing of machinery. Very nice temperature-controlled facility when not traveling! Team-oriented, tight-knit community in-house. In-house schedule: 7:00 am-3:30 pm M-F.
