job detailsjob summary:HSE Construction Site Manager needed for a high profile long term project near Columbus OH. Candidate will oversee and manage the site safety operation for the project. AS or BS degree in a related HSE area along with 15+ years (5+ as a leader) experience in the construction field. Fluency in spanish a big plus.location: Johnstown, Ohiojob type: Contractsalary: $55 - 60 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Associatesresponsibilities:
Provide safety support at the project site and oversee Contractor activities.
Dedicate 60%-70% of working time to work locations, company superintendents, and contractors to identify HSE issues and lead proactive resolution efforts.
Oversee Work Permits daily, identify improvement opportunities, and initiate necessary actions.
Perform accident investigations, including Root Cause Analyses of injuries, illnesses, and key incidents.
Implement corrective actions following citations or safety incidents to maintain compliance with occupational and health regulations.
Monitor contractors' safety programs and conduct periodic HSE audits.
Lead daily sample safety inspections, identify best practices and improvement opportunities, and report findings to site management for timely conformance.
Develop and implement local safety training and campaigns to foster a positive safety culture.
Implement and lead a robust Safety Observation program.
Majority of working time spent in the field performing HSE inspections, observations, and assisting with corrections of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions (UA&UCs).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or associate degree in a related HSE field.
OSHA 30 hours training in construction is mandatory.
strong knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements, including basic knowledge of Electrical Safety, Hazardous Energy Isolation program, and understanding of P&IDs.
Minimum of 15 years of construction HSE site experience.
At least 15 years of experience in a LEAD HSE / Site HSE Manager role at job sites, including 5 years in a managerial position.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards contractor monitoring and HSE management.
Ability to deliver training and lead HSE orientation sessions.
Fluency in both Spanish and English preferred.
