The position supports a new program, the NASA Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) which consolidates enterprise-wide applications and platform services across the Agency and supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Application Division transformation into the Application and Platform Service (APS) Line with agile based service delivery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based service management practices.The Salesforce Solution Architect will have expertise across multiple Salesforce clouds including Sales, Service, Marketing, NetZero Cloud, and Field Service Lightning (FSL), as well as hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with SAP. As a Solution Architect, you will lead technical discussions, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery of Salesforce projects that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Solution Design and Architecture:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and best practices.
Architect scalable and secure solutions across Salesforce clouds, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and more.
Define and document technical requirements, system architecture, and solution blueprints.
Design and develop seamless integrations between Salesforce, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and other platforms using tools like MuleSoft or custom APIs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to deliver successful outcomes.
Lead discovery sessions, perform gap analysis, and create user stories and solution design documentation and act as a trusted advisor for clients.
Integration Expertise:
Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and external systems using tools such as MuleSoft, REST APIs, and SOAP APIs.
Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across platforms.
Project Leadership:
Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from discovery and design to implementation and delivery.
Conduct technical reviews, code validations, and performance optimization.
Lead workshops, training sessions, and presentations for stakeholders and team members.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with Salesforce releases, new features, and emerging industry trends.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
Propose and implement enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
Serve as a technical mentor to junior team members and promote a culture of continuous learning.
Mentorship and Team Support:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for Salesforce best practices.
Facilitate workshops, deliver training sessions, and support business development initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Required Experience:
7+ years of experience in Salesforce architecture and solution design, including hands-on experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud.
In-depth knowledge of Salesforce clouds (e.g., Sales, Service, Marketing) and platform features.
Proficiency in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and declarative tools.
Strong experience with integration using REST, SOAP APIs, and middleware such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or custom APIs.
Proven track record in leading technical projects and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
Proven track record of creating artifacts like technical documentation, system diagrams, and test-driven development documents.
Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices, a demonstrated experience with advanced Salesforce.com development tools and techniques with relevant certifications, in Salesforce Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce Architect certified.
Advanced understanding of Salesforce Sharing Security: Profiles, Permission Sets, Roles, Record Visibility and understanding of the Salesforce deployment lifecycles: Sandboxes, Licenses, Deployment tools, SFDX.
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience and ability to coordinate migrations/implementation of changes between the different Application environments (i.e., Development, Test, and Production). Experience with CI / CD concepts and platforms/tools.
Skills and Attributes:
Expertise in Salesforce data models, security models, and integration patterns. Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and using tools like Jira or Confluence.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to evaluate complex systems and propose streamlined solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Salesforce Architect certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, Technical Architect).

The likely salary range for this position is $99,549 - $129,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
