Represents administrative staff and oversees the operations of the hospital after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.ACCOUNTABILITIESAll duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain the care appropriate to the age of the patient/clients served (i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).

Oversees the operation of the Hospital during assigned shifts and ensures the provision of safe, cost-effective, goal-directed, patient-centered care.

Serves as a liaison with patients, families, physicians, and outside agencies. Communicates effectively, using a variety of methods, with patients, physicians and all others involved in the care of the patient and the hospital environment.

Assists physicians and staff and demonstrates sensitivity to patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis. Participates in customer and employee survey processes to assist with improving satisfaction.

Coordinates patient admissions and arranges emergency operations and other services.

Assures access of all necessary supplies, medications, equipment, and records after hours, necessary for patient care.

Ensures appropriate staffing levels in Departments and utilizes guidelines to determine department needs. Adjusts personnel assignments and work schedules based on staffing requirements for the shift of duty.

Performs other job duties as assigned.

Collaborates with the Administrator on Call and/or the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure a safe, healthy environment for patients, families, staff, and physicians.k. Remains current in practical knowledge of all regulatory and hospital guidelines, policies, and procedures. Responsible for updating department policies and procedures and Joint Commission readiness.l. Initiates and actively participates as a change agent to improve the work environment,work process, or patient care including coaching, mentoring, and discipline process.

Education: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursingSkills: Must be able to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to critical situations involving patients, personnel, and visitors in a professional manner. Ability to facilitate problem resolution and to function in a team environment. Must be able to use and navigate multiple computer programs. Ability to communicate effectively.License: Current State of Ohio licensure as a Registered NurseCertification: BLS, ACLS PALSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: BSN or advanced nursing certificationYears of Experience: 5 or more years of acute care clinical experienceCertification: TNCC, NRP, and BATWORKING CONDITIONSPersonal Protective Equipment: May require a mask, gloves, gown, shoe covers, or goggles.Physical Demands: Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Frequent prolonged standing and walking. Lifts supplies and equipment. Lifts, pushes, positions, and/or transfers patients. Medium lifting requirements of up to 50 lbs., with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs. Regularly exposed to infection and contagious disease. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids.
