Description Robert Half is currently seeking a Collection Specialist for a contract position in the Enon, OH area. The duties of a Collections Specialist include:
collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced, goal-oriented Accounting Department.
Providing customer service regarding collection issues, identifying account adjustments, resolving customer discrepancies, and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts.
Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
Enlist the efforts of external sales staff when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
Must communicate and follow up effectively with external sales staff and senior management regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, external sales staff, internal sales staff, aftermarket staff, and senior management.
Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting Department.
High volume phone calls to assigned delinquent customers.
Weekly reporting to the Controller.
Manage status of orders and shipments for questionable customers.
Follow up on customer disputes as they pertain to outstanding balances related to warranty issues.
Provide excellent and considerate customer service to both internal and external customers.
Meet defined goals.
Requirements
At least 2 years' collections experience. A preference for collecting in a corporate environment.
High school diploma.
Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience a plus.
