Job description {#job-description tabindex="-1"}Defiance College seeks applications for Campus Safety Officer positions. Reporting to the Director of Campus Safety, Campus Safety Officers are responsible for the security and safety of the campus and enforcing all college rules and regulations.
Duties include: patrolling campus buildings and grounds; responding to reports of security/safety violations, fire alarms, emergency situations, unusual occurrences, etc.; monitoring parking and issuing tickets for violations; completing daily security log; support the needs of the campus community by being available and responsive to safety/security concerns; etc.Campus Safety Officers must be customer-service oriented, maintain a professional appearance, maintain a professional relationship with local law enforcement agencies, and be willing to adjust to a flexible work schedule which may include 2nd or 3rd shift and weekend duty. Candidates must have the ability to perform the physical requirements of the job and be able to handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy.A high school degree or equivalent is required and previous experience in law enforcement or security is desired. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age.
