What You’ll Do:
As the Lead Paint Technician – SME, you’ll be the go-to expert on professional spray gun techniques and finishing standards. You’ll lead a team of painters, train them on best practices, and ensure consistent, high-quality finishes on composite parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate daily painting operations (manual and robotic).
Train team members on spray gun techniques, surface prep, and troubleshooting.
Perform and oversee application of primers, basecoats, and topcoats using HVLP and air-assisted systems.
Supervise robotic painting systems and ensure quality alignment.
Inspect painted parts for defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
Maintain spray booths and enforce safety and PPE protocols.
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve coating issues.
Identify and implement process improvements.
What You Bring:
Expertise in HVLP, airless, or air-assisted spray systems.
Strong knowledge of surface preparation, masking, and finishing.
Ability to train others and lead a team effectively.
Automotive or high-finish painting experience is a strong plus.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
3–5 years of hands-on spray painting experience; 1–2 years in a leadership role preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a PPE-required environment.
