Mandatory Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

License/Certification: Valid Ohio Driver's License must be presented when submitting an application.

Experience: Two or more years on-the-job experience installing water service piping and fittings, Sanitary Sewer piping and fittings, Storm Structures, Storm Piping and Fittings.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must have general knowledge of the installation process for piping, fittings, and other items associated with Storm, Water, And Sanitary Sewer Services. Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking. Ability to understand grade and maintain a level of accuracy as work is put in place. Able to take orders and follow direction from the Pipe Foreman/Superintendent.

Physical: Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs and perform bending, walking, climbing, raking, and hand digging. Must have a full range of body movements including use of hands, arms, and legs.

Possess a Good Work Ethic: Must be honest and ethical while performing installation of services.

Drug Free Work Place: Candidate will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing as outlined in the Company Employee Manual

Duties and Responsibilities

Load and unload tools, equipment, and material on a daily basis

Hand dig and probe to locate existing utilities

Assemble and place pipe, fittings, structures, mechanical restraints, thrust blocks, and other related items associated with the job of pipe layer

Understand and maintain subgrade and pipe bedding elevations

Work with rotary lasers, pipe lasers, and other instruments to insure accuracy of work in place.

Read, comprehend, acknowledge, and follow all OSHA Requirements and CompanyTrench Safety Manual.

Ability to safely rig trench boxes, street plates, and related materials

Operate hand tools as required.

Grout pipe at structures and pour catch basin bottoms.

Proper understanding of the care and use of tools and equipment associated with installation of Storm, Water, and sanitary sewer services.

Understand and assist with various testing methods for Storm, Water, and Sanitary services.

Assist in the cleaning/greasing of tools, equipment and work areas.

Wear Hi Vis Vest and shirts while on site. Must wear a hardhat, safety glasses, gloves, and other PPE as required.

Must attend mandatory Safety Meetings, Training Classes, and other Safety Training related activities.

Report any unsafe behavior, condition, accident, or injury to direct supervisor.

Performs other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the foreman/Supervisor.

Must maintain dependable transportation and report to jobsite.
