Commercial GC looking to add carpenter

We are a smaller commercial general contractor. We primarily do interior renovations. We do occasionally do PW projectsjust depends on the contracts we are awarded as well as private work. We just finished projects up recently at Columbus City Schools, Franklin County Developmental Disabilities, and the Columbus Zoo.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience; have knowledge of door, frame, & hardware installation, commercial carpentry skills, plus framing and drywall; and be physically capable of performing all necessary job tasks.

Must have reliable transportation and insurance, submit background check, and pass initial & random drug tests.

This is NOT a 1099 position.

Our carpenter's primary function is to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard; and install doors, frames, and door hardware using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes. The carpenter works closely onsite under the supervision of the Superintendent. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications include:

Five (5) years commercial carpentry experience

Skilled in metal framing, drywall and acoustic ceilings a plus

Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy

Plan work and select proper tools

Perform a variety of duties which may change often

Physically, workers must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.; reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see well (either naturally or with correction).

A minimum of 10-hour OSHA training and current CPR/FA certifications are a plus, but we also provide paid training for the right candidate.
