Senior Coordinator, Mid US Research Center

The Mid-US Research Center (MRC) was established in 2021 to build a deeper understanding of business practice and innovation in the Midwest, South, and Mountain regions of the United States. It is one of several Global Initiative research locations and plays an important role in connecting faculty with business leaders in the area and serves as a source of new case writing and research in a wide range of fields. The Center also supports student programming, admissions, and other initiatives of the school. The Center has a small team of fully remote researchers located in the region.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Director of the Mid-US Research Center, the Senior Coordinator will support Harvard Business School (HBS) programs, including those related to admissions, alumni, and other initiatives, and administratively manage the Center.

The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for:

Program and office management: support in-region HBS events, board meetings, and other initiatives. Assist with in-region Admissions events.

Support other in-region programs as requested. Manage MRC communications, including creating MRC website updates, social media postings, and the MRC newsletter, in collaboration with Marketing & Communications and the Global Initiative.

Administrative support: manage all operational aspects of running the MRC; overseeing the MRC calendar, communicating with colleagues and external parties to schedule meetings; managing the MRC’s relationship database; liaising with the Global Initiative and other departments such as Finance and IT to complete internal reporting requests such as activity reports, case lists, chargebacks, vacation tracking, and other inquiries; organizing venues and related activities as well as communications for board meetings and local staff summits; and supporting the team with other activities as designated.

Special projects: support the MRC Director and team with other duties and projects as designated.

This role is responsible for other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

5+ years of experience in administrative support role(s) is required.

Education beyond high school may count toward experience.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) experience is a must.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills required.

Experience with database management preferred.

Candidate must (i) demonstrate an ability to work independently while establishing strong working relationships within and across departments and (ii) take direction from others.

Other desired skills include a strong proficiency in building collaborative professional relationships, a solid work ethic, and flexibility to change as the Center grows.

Additional Information:

This role will be based out of Columbus, OH. There may be periodic visits to our Boston, MA-based campus.

This is a part-time 20 hours/week, and benefits eligible position.
