(Salaried part-time) Job Description

The principal objective of Living Waters Christian Fellowship is to build people of Prayer, Purpose, Power, and Praise. By operating in the strong, uncompromised Word of God, prayer is entered into, the purpose is revealed, power is released, and praise is offered to God continually.

We are an assembly that ushers in the presence of God by worshipping Him in Spirit and in truth. LWCF Worship services are where we gather to celebrate God’s goodness and to experience His presence and power.

SUMMARY

The Minister of Music will work closely with our Senior Pastor to direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of worship services and worship team(s) and promote a comprehensive music ministry within Living Waters Christian Fellowship.

Living Waters Christian Fellowship is ready to welcome a talented worship facilitator and team builder onto our staff. We are prayerfully searching for the person who will join our team. The ideal candidate is a spiritually mature individual with a passion for worship ministry, who possesses strong music and production skills, is a connective team builder, can empower others, can foster meaningful worship moments, and enjoys working in a team environment. This individual will demonstrate a commitment to this congregation and its mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

1) The Minister of Music will be a God-fearing and devout Christian.

2) Will have a definite call to the ministry and inspire our singers and musicians to grow in new expressions of worship.

3) Will hold to Scriptures as being divinely inspired and without error.

4) Will have knowledge and understanding of Praise & Worship.

5) Possess excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

6) Strong commitment to the mission and values of the church.

7) Demonstrate skill in vocal and instrumental performance (preferably keyboards), with knowledge of music theory and proficiency in leading congregational singing.

8) Must be willing to submit to a thorough background check.

9) Provide employment and character references.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Plan and coordinate the music ministry. Responsible for developing leading, teaching, and building the LWCF Worship Team(s) and musicians to serve the congregation with skill and humility.

2) Plan our weekly Sunday 11:00 am worship service and coordinate, conduct, and evaluate special events (e.g., concerts, retreats, banquets, fellowship events) planned by the Senior Pastor.

3) Lead congregational worship unless delegated to another person.

4) Organize and lead weekly rehearsals for vocalists, instrumentalists, and other participants to ensure smooth and polished services and cultivate a Christ-centered community.

5) Work closely with the Media Team regarding all audio and visual needs.

6) Pursue ongoing education and training in technology, worship music, spiritual leadership, and other relevant areas to enhance effectiveness in the role.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Minister of Music is a part-time position and will be expected to work an average of 20 hours per week.

This time will consist of responsibilities on Sunday morning and special services, as well as preparation time for participation in the music ministry. When necessary, the Minister of Music will be expected to invest additional time beyond 20 hours per week into his/her duties (e.g., timely staff meeting attendance, office hours, and time spent ministering to those participating in the music ministry.)

Compensation is commensurate with education/training experience and will be paid in the form of a weekly salary.
