Important work to take pride in: STAR Turbine machines and makes parts for steam and gas turbines. Without these parts, we’d have no power.
Essential duties/functions:
Set up and operate machine tools such as milling machines, drill presses and lathes. Perform to specifications geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Load parts to be machined into the unit. Change and measure tooling as needed.
Complete set-ups for jobs using knowledge of different tool fixtures.
Read prints to determine correct placement of parts in tool fixtures.
Perform part inspections and document the results on inspection sheets using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers or height gauges.
Make adjustments to machine or tool offsets as needed to maintain part tolerances.
Ensure safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations at all times.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
May run more than one unit simultaneously.
Other duties as required to support the business.
Perform all Quality inspections and systems as required.
