Our client, a high-net-worth private couple, is seeking an experienced full-time chef to join their household. The ideal candidate specializes in vegan food, possessing a passion for plant-based cuisine, creativity in menu planning, and exceptional culinary skills, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
The chef will be responsible for preparing meals for a family of two, with occasional entertaining for guests. The role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and adaptability to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions.
This role requires seasonal travel with the family throughout the year, with separate housing provided and a car provided by the family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute daily whole food, plant-based meals for the family, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts.
- Create unique and flavorful plant-based menus tailored to the family’s dietary preferences, restrictions, and macros.
- Manage grocery shopping, inventory, and kitchen supplies to ensure a fully stocked and organized kitchen.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Manage micro and macro nutrition requirements for the family to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease.
- Collaborate with the family on menu planning, adjusting menus based on feedback and preferences.
- Prepare meals for occasional dinner parties and events hosted by the family, including weekends.
- Maintain professionalism and discretion while working in a private household.
- Stay updated on the latest plant-based culinary trends and techniques.
- Plan, execute, and prepare all meals for holidays hosted by the family.
- Provide exceptional customer service to the family and their guests, including promptly removing finished plates and dishes and anticipating needs.
- Track nutritional information as requested by the family in a nutrition tracking app.
- Travel with the family to Florida during the winter months, with car and housing provided by the employer.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a professional vegan chef
- Expert knowledge of plant-based ingredients, culinary techniques, and cooking methods
- Proven ability to create unique, flavorful, and nutritious plant-based menus
- Experience in a private household or similar setting, emphasizing discretion and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and dietary restrictions
Location: Columbus, OH with ability to travel seasonally with the family throughout the year.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm with flexibility as needed, however the principal is very respectful of your time.
Salary: Up to $100,000 DOE + OT, PTO, paid holidays
