Job Family :Sustainability ConsultingTravel Required :Up to 50%Clearance Required :NoneWhat You Will Do :Our team – Resilience, ESG and Disaster Recovery - works with companies and government agencies to achieve sustainability, including deep decarbonization, climate resilience and positive social impact. We help clients navigate the complex world of climate change, climate regulation, shifting consumer preferences, and the energy transition to achieve sustainable and profitable products, processes, business models and services. We apply leading frameworks such as Science-Based and Net-Zero Targets, ESG, and TCFD, and create innovative digital, programmatic, and financial solutions with our clients. Our team supports all Guidehouse’s segments, including financial services, energy providers, life sciences and government.As a member of our team, you will work with various public and private sector clients across different industries on their sustainability journey. Assignments may include defining sustainability strategies and targets, measuring sustainability impacts, and developing and implementing programmes to, for instance, abate emissions or develop new products & services – all to drive real-world impact. Project teams are staffed interdisciplinary, across borders and client industries to deliver most value to our clients. In this role, you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. You will contribute to complex projects and will learn about project management by managing smaller projects. Further, in addition to hands-on experience, our inhouse training programme will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed. You are expected to transition rapidly into a professional Sustainability Consultant.
You will create direct impact by supporting clients along their sustainability journey while working together with your team to answer their questions. This includes - but is not limited to - data gathering and analysis, industry research, information synthesis, writing reports, stakeholder engagement, developing Excel models, preparing presentations and workshops, and presenting your findings to clients.
You will contribute to complex projects and will learn about project management by managing smaller projects.
You will work on diverse assignments which are connected to corporate sustainability and the energy transition in different ways. Some examples:
Developing a decarbonization roadmap for an industry sector association
Developing a greenhouse-gas (GHG) footprint and setting GHG emissions targets for a global restaurant brand
Helping a federal agency define and strategize about environmental justice
Increasing climate literacy of thousands of key employees and suppliers
Implementing an emission tracking system for an entire city
Setting up a sustainability programme for a global fashion company, including development of financing mechanisms
Supporting an industrial company to procure renewable electricity and transition on-site energy infrastructure to a lower carbon option, including designing and managing the related tendering process
Preparing market forecasts for low-carbon building technology providers
Analysing the ESG-related risks for investors into a global biotech firm
Assessing the climate risks and opportunities for a global food and beverage company
What You Will Need :
Relevant experience & training
2-5 years working experience in related fields
Education in engineering, energy science, economics, physics, mathematics, business, geography, and sustainability science (preferred)
Experienced and skilled with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Strong quantitative & analytical skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail
Able to show data collection and organizational skills
Working knowledge of data analytics and analysis software such as Power BI, R, Arc GIS etc. is a bonus
Strong qualitative & team skills
Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
Proven ability to summarize complex material into key findings and implications for our clients
A team player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
Flexibility
Willingness to travel as needed by clients (currently remote)
Able to work on multiple projects and show a good understanding of the project objectives and client expectations

Proven extracurricular activities and/or experience aligned with the position

Sustainability (e.g., greenhouse gas accounting standards, circular economy, abatement strategies, ESG)

Energy (e.g., hydrogen economy, advanced energy technologies, electricity power and gas industries)
Environmental and sustainability policy appraisal

The annual salary range for this position is $77,500.00-$155,000.00.
