DescriptionAmazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to join our Data Center Community Central Operations organization. As part of our mission to provide industry-leading cloud computing services, we need talented individuals who can drive improvements in our data center operations through effective project management and cross-functional collaboration. If you have experience leading complex projects and have a passion for technology, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.What you will own: You will own goals to improve the capacity delivery process within AWS data centers. You will enable touchless installation of new data center hardware. This role will work with our Automation, Planning, Hardware and Service teams to build out better mechanisms and pipelines for catching defects in our ability to support the scaling of new technologies and platforms in our Data Centers. This role will work across multiple tech teams and be expected to improve our existing processes and procedures on how to find, address, and implement change management solutions to issues driving technical debt into our operations organizations.You will lead collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver mechanistic solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will work with stakeholders and multiple business teams to identify, define, and specify solutions supporting the needs of our data centers. You will work with multiple technical teams globally to deliver those solutions. You will be the face and voice for the project teams and ensure all stakeholders are aware of successes, risks and project status. You will tailor your communications to specific audiences and communicate clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences.Key job responsibilities

Develop and own plan of record for programs and projects in scope.

Build, integrate, and maintain reporting for areas of responsibility within existing reporting schemes and mechanisms. Where required, implement new reporting.

Build and manage project schedules/plans to support project delivery.

Collaborate with project stakeholders in multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver on agreed upon milestones.

Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs.

Plan and coordinate events including facilitation and action item management.

Implement or enable virtuous continuous improvement cycles in macro team processes.

Continuously monitor key metrics.

Measure and report effectiveness of new programs and platforms.

Develop, Own, and report on: program goals, performance, efficacy and efficiency to a variety of stakeholders across different technical domains and at varying cadences (weekly / monthly / quarterly) for area of responsibility.

Communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner.

Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities managing risk by bridging interdepartmental gaps.

A day in the lifeA day in the life of this role will involve a mix of meeting with our internal Support Engineering and other TPM's and collaboration with Data Center Automation, Capacity Planning, Hardware Engineering and Software teams to implement solutions to detected issues during our on-boarding process. You will be expected to own outcomes and closing detected gaps across the teams, and producing effective reporting demonstrating the mechanistic closure of issues detected. Your day will be split between stakeholder engagement meetings, deep dives, and personal project time.About the teamThe Data Center Compute and Storage Engineering (DCCSE) New Capacity Onboarding team. We drive efficiencies into the engineering, operations and service support models. Our vision is to ensure that work driven into AWS Data Centers is safe, secure, serviceable, supportable and highly available for customers. 4+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

3+ years of technical product or program management experience

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
