Description We are in the market for a Senior Accountant to join our team located in Columbus, Indiana. This role provides an opportunity to work within the technology and manufacturing industry, offering a short-term contract employment opportunity. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of our organization, collaborating with various departments for financial planning, and ensuring regulatory compliance in our financial practices.Responsibilities: Lead strategic management of accounting, finance, and control functions. Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Propose improvements to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial information. Oversee the daily operations of the company’s budget, audit, and accounting departments. Manage relationships with independent auditors and investors. Oversee the implementation and upgrades of financial systems. Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements. Recruit, train, and retain competent accounting/IT staff. Provide guidance for the ERP system and ensure its efficient functioning. Organize and coordinate the year-end close process with internal and external auditors. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, including cash flow statements. Plan, forecast, budget, and authorize expenditures in line with the company's financial goals. Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations. Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s financial forecasts. Ensure the company's financial state is in good standing by meeting legal requirements. Coordinate, plan, and lead IT related activities. Ensure the hardware and software used by our company is compatible, secure, and scalable. Manage the company's internal network and provide support for our staff.Requirements Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry Demonstrated experience with month-end close activities and month-end journal entries Proficient in using Epicor ERP software Advanced understanding of manufacturing cost accounting Proficient in managing and maintaining the general ledger Strong experience in financial reporting and budgeting Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred Excellent communication and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
