R&D Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities Putting together formulas and processing them, preparing wet samples and applying them on lab metal and baking them out and testing those properties. Testing includes viscosity, density, weight per gallon, color development, adhesion testing, cure testing, solids, flexibility, and solvent resistance. Understand and follow a batch ticket (recipe) with a high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements. Perform standard testing procedures, including prep of materials, with attention to detail and high quality. Follow daily work plan for Lab Work Request or project plan. Accurately document work in lab notebooks (either physical or electronic). Recognize roadblocks or anomalies; resolve them or communicate concerns with a chemist in a timely manner. Ensure raw materials are available and correctly labelled. Correctly label and mail samples. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform equipment calibration and testing procedures as assigned. Maintain appropriate levels of housekeeping and 5S organization in the lab. Maintain and promote a safe work environment, complying with safety policies and procedures. Follow safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment.Job TypeThis is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
