Currently hiring a Quality Lab Analyst I in a food manufacturing lab. An ideal candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related field. Job DescriptionAs a Quality Analyst I, you will work in the Quality Lab responsible for testing various products. Your role will involve pH testing, viscosity testing, density measurement, % solids, and weighing samples.Hours are 3:30PM - 4:00AM Friday-Sunday. Pay will begin at $22/hr for the first 6 months, then be raised to $25/hr after 6 months. Responsibilities

Collect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.

Monitor processes to ensure they are operating correctly and consistently.

Document all results neatly and precisely.

Label and maintain product retention samples used to monitor the product throughout the established shelf life.

Organize collected data for management review.

Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.

Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.

Monitor plant for compliance with GMP’s.

Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.

Test R&D samples for food safety & specification development.

Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.

Qualifications

AS or BS in a science-related field

Non-degreed candidates with one year of wet chemistry lab experience will also be considered

Work EnvironmentThe lab is a small, team-oriented environment with a family feel. Expect a loud environment with strong food smells. You will work alongside a few other technicians and report to the supervisor. The dress code is casual; most people wear a t-shirt and jeans. A lab coat will be provided upon hiring. No jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar items are permitted.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
