Job Title: Project SpecialistJob Code: 104850Job SummaryProvides support services to NiSource Business Services through problem solving, process outlining and training material builds. This position also uses data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives through cross functional collaboration workshops to update, improve and develop training for all of New Business. The role is focused on creating efficiencies and Identifying areas for improvement by also creating metrics and reports that can be used within NiSource New Business Services to maintain compliance and increase customer value. The qualified individual will provide some IT support for all business applications and tools that the New Business Team utilizes day-to-day as needed. This role is expected to collaborate closely with key partners that support or are supported by NiSource New Business Services to ensure business solutions are synchronized across multiple business functions to deliver an excellent customer experience while meeting our departmental and company objectives.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Plans, executes, and manages projects within NiSource Business Services Center

Collaborates and communicates with internal business partners to result in successful execution of projects.

Facilitates and coordinates effective and timely communication with customers and stakeholders

Develop and facilitate training classes for larger groups as related to New Business processes and procedures.

Identifies and tracks key measures to support the organization

Facilitates creation and tracking of SLAs/OLAs/KPIs and processes documentation

Analyzes and interprets processes and data for operational issues that will assist in decision making processes. Performs data mining, adhoc reporting as necessary.

Collaborate with other stakeholders and business partners to process map, flow, and build training material for all areas of New Business.

Develops professional, useful, and understandable reports, graphics and dashboards

Generates innovative solutions that effectively utilize business data and data analysis techniques

Analyzes, recommends and implements process improvements to increase efficiencies

Defines, measures, and schedules project tasks and interdependencies to achieve objectives through a clearly defined project plan/work breakdown structure

Assist in the development and construction of executive level presentations and process flows for key projects

Embraces and utilizes new technologies and strive for continuous improvement

Support New Business shared applications across all CGC NB and NIPSCO NB as needed for multiuser issues and application updates required. Help to coordinate and communicate the UAT testing as needed.

Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and with minimal direct supervision.

Develops accurate, timely research and analysis.

Creates effective and innovative solutions in partnership across functions for company issues, problems and concerns.

Develops compelling communication that effectively conveys key strategic initiatives to internal parties.

Achievement of established project success criteria

Delivery of projects on-time and on-budget

Stakeholder and organizational communications and alignment

All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Position

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in an accurate and timely manner and deliver high quality results

Experience with PC based systems, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, to create memos, presentations and spreadsheets containing basic mathematical formulas.

Experienced in data gathering & analysis of disparate data

Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.

Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear and concise communications.

Ability to influence and work cooperatively with partners within a matrix organization

Working knowledge of organizational change management

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

At least 2+ years of relevant business experience, previous electric or gas utility experience preferred.

Demonstrated facilitation skills

Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio

Experience using project management processes such as financial management, schedule management, and scope management

Experience using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve customer value
