Position Summary: Leads glazing crew to ensure project is done efficiently and effectively. Works with project management to confirm materials and labor is on site when needed. Keeps production flow moving at all times and fill any position when needed. Qualities we are looking for:

Tasks & Activities

COMMUNICATION

Correspond with supervisors and other team leads for maximum production

Demonstrate understanding and motivational skills for crew members

Maintain a high degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with all other employees

Other tasks or duties as assigned by the Site Superintendent or General Manager

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Diagram and blueprint reading skills

Ensures all parts/glass is accounted for on job/task at hand

Checks proper maintenance is done on machines for proper working order

TEAMWORK/COLLABORATION

Be able to help fill-in wherever is needed

Knowledgeable of all job functions to be hands-on when needed

WORK MANAGEMENT

Makes sure there in consistency in workflow from start to finish

Ensures everyone is working in a safe and timely manner

Staying a step ahead to guarantee everything runs smoothly

Train new employees

Oversee glazing crew whenever a supervisor is absent

Make sure all employees have PPE on

Always be available

Collect timesheets on weekly basis (if applicable)

Stay organized

Position Requirements

4+ years of construction/fabrication experience preferably in the glazing or glass industry

Preferably Supervisor/lead experience

Have a track record of excellence

Capable of expressing thoughts, ideas, and technical information and resolving conflicts

Must be able to communicate effectively

Work well under the pressure of time constraints and changing expectations

Experienced in reading and analyzing construction and project management documents e.g., building plans and specifications, contracts, safety codes and budget sheets

Recognize basic engineering and architectural principles in structures

Manages field crew and motivates individuals and teams to achieve maximum efficiency

PHYSICAL

The ability to stand for 95% of an average week.

Walking, bending, twisting, climbing, turning of head and torso, crawling, reaching, flexing the arms and legs, and stooping as necessary

Lifting and carrying weights in excess of 100 pounds
