Works in a team environment to provide environmental compliance support for a variety of company facilities, including power generating stations, electric transmission and distribution facilities, service centers, office buildings and other AEP business operations. Engages in regulatory development activities and serves as an environmental subject matter expert as assigned. Candidates will be responsible for managing and supporting projects under various regulatory programs including RCRA, TSCA (PCB’s), EPCRA, CERCLA and DOT. Experience with RCRA, TSCA, and/or DOT regulations are preferred.Work Designation: Based within AEP's service territory (preferably officing in Columbus OH, New Albany OH, Roanoke VA, Tulsa OK, or Shreveport LA), potential for remote position within service territory in these states: OH, WV, VA, KY, TN, IN, MI, OK, TX, LA, AR."Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Identifies, clarifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to compliance problems that require multi-functional, or organizational, interfacing and/or multi-discipline analytical techniques.

Interprets environmental regulations and procedures required by external agencies in addition to policies, practices, standards and rules of the company in the context of system upsets and other unusual conditions.

Solves routine compliance problems and performs routine analyses with minimum direction or oversight from higher-level employees.

Performs environmental due diligence on properties for acquisition and divesture. Identifies and scopes environmental testing as needed.

Provides guidance and direction to project manager and field staff on a variety of testing and/or remedial activities.

Scopes, oversees and reviews Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.

Interprets results and provides guidance on next steps.

Provides guidance and direction for proper handling and disposal of a wide variety of materials, including hazardous wastes.

Provides training and guidance to a variety of internal business units.

Initiates corrective action when project objectives are not being met.

Develops, reviews and presents technical reports and analyses in a clear, concise and effective fashion.

Develops and implements standards of work as it relates to the group’s activities and continually seeks process improvements.

Develops, reviews and prepares reports on complex technical subjects clearly, concisely and effectively, in a manner suitable for presentation to management, professional societies, regulatory bodies, agencies or organizations, including other similar peer and/or industry groups.

Environmental Specialist Sr:( 85,081.00 - 127,624.00 USD Annual )Education requirements : Bachelor's degree (environmental science, biology, chemistry, natural resources, or ecology or related field)Work Experience : Minimum of 6 years of environmental experience.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demand level is Sedentary

Individuals with a Master’s or Doctorate degree may be considered for entry into the organization at this level

Registration in recognized associations and organizations for environmental professionals is encouraged .

Environmental Specialist Principal:( 96,110.00 - 153,770.00 USD Annual)Education requirements: Bachelor's degree (environmental science, biology, chemistry, natural resources, or ecology or related field)Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of environmental experience.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be available to work overtime, call-out overtime and shift work, as required.

Travel requirements are expected 10-25% of the time Physical demand level is Sedentary

Individuals with a Master's or Doctorate degree may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.

Registration in recognized associations and organizations for environmental professionals is encouraged.

40 hours per week with some overtime required.

Periodic travel required.

Engineer:( 85,081.00 - 127,624.00 USD Annual)

Has typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET .

Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.

Acceptable alternative is:

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program. Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.

Engineer Sr:(96,110.00 - 153,770.00 USD Annual)

Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET; or 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET
