Today, our Behavioral Health Center will change how mental health services are delivered in Cleveland. Our new facility is located in Cleveland Heights and is intentionally designed to meet the needs of patients.Join our Behavioral Health Psychiatric Emergency Department!Primary Patient Population:· 18+ years oldPrimary skills utilized/learned:

Environmental scanning for safety issues

Weapons, unsecured spaces, damaged equipment/facilities issues etc

Scanning persons and belongings for contraband

Proactive engagement and de-escalation of patients in crisis

Strong customer service and relational skills

Communication skills

Professional communication is required with an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, police etc

Ensuring proper escalation of concerns and strong documentation of least restrictive interventions applied

Must be able to demonstrate and maintain physical competency in this area

Strong understanding of emergency procedures utilized in the hospital

Personnel PSA will work with :· Police, Providers (MD & APRN), Nursing (RN & PCNA), Social Work, PsychologyNumber of beds on unit:· 10 bedsMetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

2 years of experience working in a Behavioral Health setting, corrections or healthcare facility, or other related experience.

Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Training in WELLE or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Capacity to manage stressful situations, problem-solve quickly, and react appropriately during psychiatric emergencies. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, or another related field from an accredited institution.

Experience working as a security guard
